It’s officially the time… we are FINALLY back to school in person! I don’t know about you, but I am so excited to see everyone and have a sense of normality back in my life. With going back to school comes A LOT of rules to ensure protection from COVID-19. School definitely isn’t going to look like what we’re used to seeing. Students are only going to be in person two days a week, with fewer people inside the building each day. Additionally, social distancing rules are VERY apparent to keep everyone as safe as possible. At this point, you are probably wondering, what is school going to look like? Here are some of the guidelines, simplified, for your convenience!
When coming to school make sure to wear your mask at all times
If you show any symptoms of COVID-19, notify the school office immediately and stay at home for everyone’s safety!
If you are driving yourself to school, make sure to park in your assigned spot and enter the building through the main entrance at the front of the school
Parent drop-off is still in the same spot - the front of the school - where you will enter through the main entrance
If you arrive via bus, make sure to enter through the annex doors (by the Den)
No matter which method of transportation you use to get to school, make sure to go straight to your first-period class
Unfortunately, there will be no catching up with friends or crowding around in the hallways
Now in the hallways, remember to walk on the right side, socially distant, when moving from class to class
We are restricted from going to different classrooms to say hi to people or stopping in the halls to talk with others
A total of 4 people are allowed per restroom at one time while keeping a safe distance away from one another
Drinking fountains are off-limits, but if you bring your own water bottle you are allowed to fill it up at the bottle filler station above the usual water fountains
And finally, moving on to lunchtime - if you are eating in the cafeteria, everyone will be facing the same direction with 3 people per table
If you are a junior or senior with a parking pass, you have the opportunity to eat in your car
That may seem like a lot of guidelines, but it’s for the best! These, of course, are for the sole purpose of minimizing the spread of COVID-19 and ensuring the safety of our timberwolves! In the case that a student contracts COVID-19, following these rules will lower the risk of the outbreak within our school, and therefore fewer students will need to quarantine.
